The ultimate aim of the Underground Union is to attempt to clean up the surface environment. We hope that one day, humans will inhabit the Earth's surface once again.
The original aim of the Underground Union was to ensure the continuing existence of the human race despite the destruction of the atmosphere and environment above the ground. We succeeded in achieving this and are now building on the original success.
On the 22nd May 2064 the UU will be holding the 2080 summit. This will be to discuss current achievements and future goals. Subjects to be discussed include maintaining healthy food sources, dealing with the growth of the population, traffic congestion and 'surface issues'.
In alignment with the goal to maintain the human race's existence, the UU has developed methods of sustaining oxygen levels in the underground communities. These methods include filtering oxygen and carbon dioxide from the atmosphere above ground and cultivating clean oxygen. The carbon dioxide filtered from the atmosphere is siphoned to 'Oxygen Plant' gardens. These gardens utilise the same pseudo-sunlight technology as virtual holiday destinations to assist the natural process of the plants in purifying carbon dioxide to produce clean oxygen to supplement filtered oxygen. |
